Thats awesome!! So you became a hypnotherapist before or after your health issues??
You rock!!
Thanks geekGirl for the info about him eating tuna and fish. To be honest my curiosity in this thread is that a couple of weeks ago (after attending an awesome Tony Robbins seminar) I decided to go vegetarian, and so I'm very curious about what other vegetarians do to meet their protein requirements. I know Tony Robbins also eats fish occasionally. Knowing how other people handle similar situations is one way that we learn. It's called modeling, and we all do it - I choose to model after people I respect, who know their stuff - like Robbins, and Ness.
As for his health condition, my prayers are with him. I too had a very serious health condition once. An autoimmune disorder. I used the usual medications, but what really helped me avoid surgery was a healthier lifestyle, and hypnotherapy.

Hey Erica, you gorgeous stranger. I need to give you a call soon and let you know what's new on my end. I almosy didn't make the post cause I wasn't sure if I was violating privacy or just flat out should have kept it to myself, but seeing how so many people just flipped out, I felt it needed to be said. Either way.. thanks for backin me up, Erica. I'll talk to you soon.

I've been a veg for years and have several excellent cookbooks that cover everything you will need. If you want a reading list pm me and I'll get it to you.

I was a strict vegetarian from 16 to 21, then I started eating seafood, and eventually poultry. I still love eating fake meat, and preparing meals with it. Morning Star Farms rocks and so does Veggie Chorizo! My sisters are both strict vegetarians, and my lil sis has been since she was six years old.
My diet is alot like My Cars, except when I'm out drinking the night before. If I'm hungover I indulge on Del Taco's green burritos and french fries...yummy!
I think being a vegetarian is great if that's what you want to do.
But, (there's always a but)
I never hear people who eat meat go out of their way to say "hey i'm a carnivore or hey i'm an ominvore" so its strange to me that vegetarians like to say it.
Yeah, but people that eat meat, dont have to go out of their way to eat. Its the standard, its all over the menus, and the grocery stores, and big family dinners. My mom or dad never really went out of their way to accomadate any of us, including my six year old little sister. There were many nights that we just had to starve, due to the fact we stood by our decision to not eat meat.
Mike told me that he was a vegetarian when I first met him about 6 years ago. I never noticed anyone discuss it on the board, until the Live in OC DVD came out, since Mike had mentioned it on there.
Wow, I would have made y'all something to eat if you were my kids. I just want my kids to eat anything. They are pretty picky.
Fast food establishments unfortunately spend a lot of $ on advertisements instead of spending dollars on better sources of things to eat. Fat is cheap. That's why it's still under $ 4 to eat at McDonald's.
If you like beef, you can eat Belgian Blue Beef that is lower in fat and cholesterol than chicken breast & higher in protein and moisture than chicken breast. It does cost more though.
Do you think more people are vegetarian due to the healthy aspects of it or because of animal cruelty ( or what is perceived as animal cruelty) ?
I get a lot of questions that subject here @ work.
Well my sisters and I quit eating meat due to animal cruelty. I boycotted everything and read labels on everything in those days. I thought that Mike being in such a notorious punk band probably had been a vegetarian back in the day for the same reasons, but he told me he wasnt back then.
I eventually decided to eat seafood, then poultry to make my life easier, but I never had the urge to have red meat, pork, etc. I do think that these days it would be alot easier to be a vegetarian than ever, and I have considered going back to that lifestyle.
Oh yeah, and my parents SUCKED, being able to eat was the least of my worries!
Thats why I go above and beyond for my boy.
Cool. I can respect that. I enjoy talking about that kind of stuff. I am really interested in the properties of Omega 3 Fatty Acids in fish & it's heart healty properties.
I know what you mean on the parental deal. I am the same way with my 2 kids. Just went to the year end awards for my 4th grader. My parents never showed for any of that stuff when i was a kid. I know going the extra mile for them will pay off. Sounds like you are doing a great job.
